Just tell me a little bit of what food blogging means to you.
Ans: A complex interviewing of Interest in cooking/eating various cuisines with those of writing with pictures/photographs/videos. Fashionablefoodz is an example of Food Blogging.
What inspired you to start the blog?
Ans: My friends who after seeing my cooking skills encouraged me to start a Blog
When did you realize this was going to become more than just a hobby?
Ans: After a couple of years, when I was first approached by a brand to write a Blog post and offered to pay me for the same.
Why do you think food blogging has become so popular now?
Ans: Primarily two reasons.
One is because of the many increasing TV shows and celebrity chefs coming on Tube to teach you to cook. They have ensured that the culinary art is not just restricted to schools.
Two the money has attracted many Influencers, hobbyists, reviewers to get in the field in hope of making some money.
What is the most time-consuming part for you as a food blogger?
Ans: The recipes take up a lot of time compared to writing posts on Wellness, Nutrition, and Health.
Could you give some advice for bloggers who are starting out?
Ans: Be patient. Your time will come. There is no shortcut to success. Learn the art of Blogging to sustain in the long run and you will not fizzle out in a couple of years like many others.
What is the most important thing you should be doing as a food blogger?
Ans: Observation. It is very important to observe in order to absorb what you want and then put it on the Blog in form of words, Videos and/or pictures.
How much technical know how do you think someone needs to have if they want to become a food blogger?
Ans: WordPress knowledge is a must if you want to manage a blog as per your taste and need. Technical help is available in the market but then it comes from a different Human brain. there will always be chances that the other person won’t understand what you exactly want him/her to do.
What according to you is the best way to increase traffic to your food blog?
Ans: Keep growing your clout by joining various groups on social media and visiting other bogs very frequently, read their posts and leave your suggestion/comments.
How often did you post when you started off as opposed to now?
Ans: I used to post once in 10 days when I started, made it once a week soon and Now I post every 5 days from SEO point of view.
How soon were you able to make your first 100 dollars?
Ans: It took me 2 years before I even thought of money. I wanted to learn, understand, absorb and master the art before looking at money.
What is your preferred source of monetization for your blog?
Ans: I do a lot of Brand promotion through my blog posts. So it is a mix of sponsored posts and brand promotion posts.
Do you think there is a right time to start monetizing a food blog?
Ans: Yes, I will say a minimum of 12-18 months is needed to learn this. Also, the Blogs DA and PA reaches a level where he/she can command a good price.
Which is your favorite social network, if any?
Ans: I use Twitter, Stumbleupon, Reddit, G+, FB, Pinterest, and Tumbler. I will put Pinterest as my favorite.
Any last thoughts?
Ans: This is a small world, spread joy and happiness with your blog. Share and earn respect rather than trying to hoard knowledge and know-how. It will never help in the long run.
